Setup

Choose factions (Marquise, Eyrie, Woodland Alliance, Vagabond). Place the board showing the woodland map. Each faction has a different setup: Marquise starts with workshops and recruiting, Eyrie places roosts, etc. Shuffle the decks.

How to Play

  1. Each faction has a unique rulebook and board.
  2. Marquise de Cat builds buildings and scores by crafting items.
  3. Eyrie Dynasties must follow a decree (adding actions each turn or else turmoil).
  4. Woodland Alliance spreads sympathy and revolts.
  5. Vagabond moves as a solo pawn, completes quests, and aids other players.
  6. On your turn, follow your faction's phase order (birdsong, daylight, evening).

Winning the Game

The first player to reach 30 victory points wins immediately. Each faction scores differently: Marquise crafts and rules clearings, Eyrie roosts and builds, Alliance spreads sympathy, Vagabond completes quests and removes enemies.

Variants & House Rules

Riverfolk expansion adds Otters and Lizards. Underworld expansion adds Moles and Crows.
