Setup

Place the board showing the Eastern European map. Each player chooses a faction board and a player mat. Place your starting mech, character, and workers on your home base. Shuffle the encounter, factory, and combat cards. Put resources on the board.

How to Play

  1. On your turn, choose one of four actions: move (send units), produce (make resources on your controlled territories), trade (gain 2 of any resource), or bolster (gain combat power and a combat card).
  2. You may also deploy mechs, build structures, or enlist recruits when you have the resources.
  3. The encounter card gives a bonus when you move onto a village.
  4. Combat happens when you move into an enemy territory; both players secretly bid combat power and play a card.

Winning the Game

The game ends when any player places their 6th star (achievements like completing mechs, upgrades, recruits, structures, objectives, or combat wins). Then the player with the most coins (money) wins. Coins come from territories, resources, structures, and popularity.

Variants & House Rules

Invaders from Afar adds two new factions (Albion and Togawa). The Wind Gambit adds airships and new end-game conditions.
