Setup

Shuffle the deck of 40 cards (numbers 1-9 in 4 colors, plus 4 rockets/special). Deal all cards to players (3-5 players). Set the mission book to mission 1. Choose a commander (first player).

How to Play

  1. The Crew is a cooperative trick-taking game. Players must complete a mission (e.g., 'Player A must win the 4 blue cards').
  2. The commander starts the first trick by leading a card. Others must follow suit if possible; if not, they may play any card.
  3. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick (rockets are trump and beat all suits).
  4. After the trick, players can discuss (but cannot say specific numbers).
  5. If the mission is completed, players advance to the next mission.
  6. If the mission fails, players may retry the same mission.
  7. Players must communicate using limited clues (e.g., 'I can win a high yellow card').
  8. The game has 50 missions of increasing difficulty.

Winning the Game

The team wins if they complete the mission. There are no individual points. Players lose if the mission fails too many times (usually 3 strikes).
